I love my husband!

This year my husband told me not to buy him a Valentine's card. No problem! I wasn't going to anyway! But I did plan to put my words and creativity into action to share my love for him. The craft colored cardstock gave a perfect look to help make the card a little more masculine. I love the art, but I also love the sentiments in a great card... so I made my own!

As I mentioned in earlier posts, I am a font addict! Bickham Script Pro has been one of my new favorite fancy fonts. Futura is also a favorite sans serif with a modern look. As I sat in front of my computer and thought about my wonderful husband... these three thoughts came to me: "You have ignited the joy of Romance. You have taught me so much about love. You have given a whole new meaning to life." These phrases said it all for me.

DESIGN:
I love to use simple and clean lines. This card had a nice balance, but I cut the last sentiment with a diagonal to make it stand out a little bit. The same shape was used again on the inside of the card.

I love swirly flourishes in stamping! You might notice the subtle flourishes on the burgundy cardstock, and then of course the others in black on the top layer with the sentiments. The two colors that really made this card pop were the green and pink accents. I must admit, the green was a bright Crayola marker that I used to color in some of the lines! The pink is my new favorite pink... BERRY SORBET by PaperTrey Ink! This pink is great for stamping images (the subtle swirls) or for adding a little punch with the distressed edges around the sentiments.

All I have to say is I LOVE my Husband and I am grateful for one more excuse to tell him he means the world to me!

A teacher's love...

As Valentines Day was approaching, I began to think of the long list of people whom I love so very much. On that list were a group of women who taken care of my son almost every day! Right now I work full time at my church and my son attends Faith Fellowship Academy where he is loved and cared for. Several different women throughout the day teach him, encourage him, and love on him. While I wish that I could be with him more, I am forever grateful to the ladies who take care of my son!

So on Wednesday night I stayed up and put together eight Valentine's Cards for the teachers and principal. This card and a small box of chocolates definitely made the ladies smile. They were so thrilled and have their cards hanging up in the classroom.
This card features a unique font called: Mary Jane Tankard. I love the combination of Pink and Black elements. The brilliant pink glitter is called Tourmaline by the Martha Stewart collection. This glitter goes with everything!

Happy Birthday Jadeyn!

My son is 18 months old and enjoys his Tiny Tots class at our church's school. He loves being with his friends! One of his buddies is a sweet little girl named Jadeyn. Every time I peek in the window of their class, I catch the two of them playing together. Jadeyn just recently turned two and we were invited to her birthday party! I think much of my social life is going to begin revolving around toddlers' birthday parties and play dates! I think we need to design a stamp set for younger children's celebrations! Any thoughts?

This card featured my new favorite alphabet stamp set from Close to My Heart. If you are looking for reasonably priced alphabet stamps, Close to My Heart has some great options! I also love their inks which I used for this project as well. For Jadeyn's name, I used empossing powder by "Sparkle N Sprinkle" in the Cherry color. Glitter was from Stamping Bella.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY PAPERTREY INK!

Happy Anniversary to all the wonderful folks at Papertrey Ink!

What a wonderful company with amazing product lines. Nichole Heady has been an amazing blessing to work with. She totally inspires me with her creativity and organization skills. As part of the 2 year Anniversary celebration, I am excited to give away my favorite stamp set from Paper Trey. How do I even begin to choose? There are so many amazing stamp sets! Well, I must say that I am totally in love with "Floral Frenzy". There is something classic and serene about this stamp set with limitless options.

I live in Florida which means that Spring has already arrived! Yeah, we have a few cold snaps that bring us down to the 40s every once in a while, but for the most part, this is the most gorgeous season in Florida to enjoy. "Floral Frenzy" makes me want to adorn every corner of my home with fresh cut flowers and breathe deep to enjoy the aroma that no scented candle can reproduce. So when I create a card with Floral Frenzy- it's more than a "Thank You" or "Happy Birthday", I hope that it will be a bouquet of sunshine sitting on the counter in my friend's home!

WIN YOUR OWN STAMP SET!

Tell me why you love "Floral Frenzy" and you will be eligible to win your own stamp set! Jennifer will be choosing the winner!

The contest ends at 12am EST February 4th.

The winners will be announced February 4th, after 12pm EST.
Check out Nichole's blog to view the list of winners!

Nothing But Grace,

A New Season

Hello! My name is Tiffany Pastor and I am thrilled to start my blog and start connecting with other people who share a passion for creativity. I am a new designer for Paper Trey Ink and so excited about the future ahead.

Paper Trey Ink has given me a wonderful opportunity to merge two loves in my life, design and stamping. I began scrapbooking several years ago but would almost call myself a "stampbooker" today. After discovering acrylic stamps, I couldn't make a scrapbook page without them! Stamping has grown to be a wonderful outlet for me to keep in the craft as I don't always have time to scrapbook anymore.

MY STYLE: Much of my design experience is from my role as Communications Director at my home church. I design publications and projects for all different groups of people within our church... but I must admit my favorite is the vintage grunge technique. Taking the grunge look and coupling it with the frills and swirls that any girl would love makes a unique style that stands out. There is a fine line when introducing grunge to the stamping world, but I believe that with good taste it will bring a fresh edge to the industry. I have a crazy addiction to new fonts and am always looking for something new. I totally believe in the view of art as escapism. My projects not only help me escape into the artistic euphoria of my brain- but hopefully will bring some escapist bliss to the person who receives it as well.

Expecting Great Things,
Tiffany
