What a fun countdown it has been for the 5th Anniversary Celebration and February release at Papertrey Ink. Over the past few days, I have been sharing projects showcasing my new stamp and die set called "Frilly Flowers". These awesome products will be available beginning Feb 15.
Today I am sharing the inspiration for my new release.... My daughter! Brooke was born 5 months ago, and she always has a big flower in her hair ( actually she just has a bit of peach fuzz, so the bows help let the world know she IS indeed a lady.) I love making fun bows but always wanted bigger sizes, and thus came the selfish creation of Frilly Flowers. Below is just one example of how to use the dies with fabric to create the perfect little accent for little girls and big girls alike.
After running the dies and fabric in all three sizes, I folded them into quarters and glued them together with hot glue. A few layers of shimmery tulle made a nice fluffy frame for the bow, and I simply hot glued the hair clip to the back of the base of the bow.
I chose to keep this bow simple, but it would also be fun to have a cluster or pearls and rhinestones or one of PTI's awesome vintage buttons as a centerpiece. I love how it came out. These are great gift ideas for friends or babies. How cute to make a coordinating card and clip the bow onto the card as an embellishment-- or clip the frilly bows onto the gift bag or wrapped present. It would give such a special homemade and thoughtful touch. I received a bunch of adorable handmade bows at a baby shower and just loved them! And FYI, this project took all of ten minutes to make (so it is a really fun and quick craft to do with friends or in your spare time.)
SUPPLIES: I also must mention the cost of this project is soo affordable! I bought fabric remnants and the pink fabric cost under $1, the tulle cost 28 cents! The flat metal hair clips can be bought at Sally Beauty Supply and I believe it was a pack of 12 clips for around $2. I love fun and affordable projects like this!
Before I sign off, I have to mention something wonderful in my life!!! You might have noticed a BEAUTIFUL lady holding my sweet Brooke in one of the pictures above... Well, this past weekend my dear brother proposed to his precious sweetheart, Jessie... And she said YES!!!! So, above holding my daughter in my NEW SISTER!!! Jessie has a gentle spirit, the love of Christ in her heart, and she makes my brother happier than I have ever seen him. I am thrilled to be welcoming Jessie into the family, and celebrate in their wedding later on this year.
Stop by my blog later more this week to see more bows and frilly projects you will absolutely love!! I have many to share!
Have a WONDERFUL day.... Filled with kisses for your loved ones and smiles for all you meet. Oh, yes, and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
