I have been waiting weeks to share this card with. I wanted to upload pictures right away, but have learned that if you upload a picture of a card for someone BEFORE you give it to them, then there's a good chance they will see it online before in person. SO, I have been waiting with excitement for my sweet sweet sister-in-law to receive her birthday card before I share it with the world. Today I got a phone call from Brenna sharing that she was wearing her gifts and received the card I sent along, so I am free to upload it now! LOL!
I totally LOVE this ribbon! Honestly, I bought the spool a while back when making ribbons for my sweet pup's pony tail, (yes, my dog has a bow in her hair at all times!) and then I rolled it up and have kept in it my stash for projects. It's bright, bold and will steal the show if you let it, SO, it was perfect for the simple style of the card.
Finishing touches... one of my favorite parts of the card is the cut out flowers from more of the Bo Bunny paper, with a little pop up action and some rhinestones, it really gave dimension to the card.
WHAT MADE MY DAY was that when Brenna called today to thank me, she also said that her favorite gift was my card! (The ultimate compliment for any die-hard crafter! ha!) I was touched, but the truth is, I felt the accomplishment was that the card went further than paper, glue and fun embellishments... it touched her hard, it became a GIFT. That is and always will be my crafting goal! The inside of the card included some scripture exhorting Brenna for the woman I believe she is... a Proverbs 31 woman! Click on the picture to see it larger to read it.
Made by women in Africa, these necklaces help support impoverished people and allow them to step into a better life. I gave Brenna the "Newsy" necklace... but there are SO many other great ones to choose from.
I read this book by Angela Thomas this spring in my weekly small group and I LOVED IT. What a great read and word of inspiration. Check it out!
Happy Birthday BRENNA!!! I LOVE you SOOO very very much!
Nothing But Grace,
Tiffany
