Welcome back to the third day in our Summer Savvy Series! How fun to get pumped up for summer fun and summer layouts! I have been so blessed by your kind and encouraging comments! It's so fun to share with you and see your enthusiasm for getting all crafty! :)
...........................
SO, this layout can have multi-purpose inspiration for you today. My son's birthday is in August, so since much of our family has summer birthdays, I thought i would share his Birthday Bash! This was from 2008 for his first birthday... I *have* printed my pictures for last year's party, and I so wanted to have the pages ready for you, but with much going on at the Pastor house... it just didn't happen!
A Picture captures a thousand bites!
What fun it was to watch my little man hesitantly venture into the world of CAKE. He loved it! He was slow at first, but then realized this was a golden opportunity. And since he was surrounded by 50 friends and flashing cameras, I guess he got the hint that, indeed, it was OK to dig in! :)
DETAILS, DETAILS!
I love this Happy Birthday paper because it has so many fun colors. I wanted the main scheme to be orange and blue (a little college football bias I have!).... mainly because my son was wearing orange, and the teal blue colors from the invitation and pool water were big in the pictures.

>> The orange backgroun has a nice lining and textured look, but I wanted to add more... and low and behold, my magic Mesh matched! This stuff is awesome, and so often I totally forget I have it! It adheres right to the paper and trips off nicely. The ribbon trim also tied in many of the fun colors.
>> Don't forget my PTI touch with the large scallop border! Love that thing! It always adds so much to my projects!
>> Of course, my savvy SLICE helped me with the title... and I had fun using letters in both capital and lower case and different sizes to make it a bit more interesting.

>> I also cut out the journal block with my slice and inked it up with some gorgeous teal ink. Trimming it out with ribbon and rhinestones always does the trick, too!
Well, I hope you had fun this week as you get ready for SUMMER!! School is nearly out, or for some of you, it has already ended! So, have fun! Make a big mess on your craft table! Try new things! Scrap it UP!
