Introducing "Embellishments"!

Hey there sweet bloggers!
Are you having such a blast with all the count down projects going on at Papertrey? I love it! Well if you are just joining us... then here's the run down on my brand new stamp set!

  • "Embellishments" will be released on Aug. 15 on the Papertrey Ink website.
  • Retailing for only $24
  • What's it all about? This stamp set is loaded with large and small flourishes, border, and fleur-de-lise all with a distressed technique which adds such rich and countless possibilities. The stamp set also features several thoughtful sentiments which you will find just as fabulous as the images.
  • If you want to see the earlier count down projects, check out these links: Day One, and Day Two.
So, since yesterday's post shared lots of girly shabby chic examples, I thought I would try to get some more classy modern stuff in their for you, too. I am in LOVE with the color teal. It's a color that communicates the mood and personality I want to emulate all the time. It is fresh, it is fun, light and airy, yet can pull off a very smart and sophisticated look, too. It reminds me of Caribbean waters and gorgeous blue skies. SO, when I got the PTI Hawaiin Shores cardstock, I was so excited!

DETAILS, DETAILS!
>>>Papertrey cardstock and satin ribbon features the Hawaiin Shores perfect match color
>>>Check out my fuzzy orange ribbon (which by the way, has a wire in it which makes it SUPER easy to work with). This was one of the fun colors I picked up at Michael's for a buck. And speaking of Michael's, have you heard about the awesome new Michael's Crafting Cruise coming up in February? It's only been offered just a few weeks and they have already sold out half the seats available! Check it out!
>>> I hand cut the white mat and stamped up the cardstocks with different flourishes from the Embellishments website. And I love the sentiment which emphasizes the importance of the person you are giving the card to.
>>> This is a simple card, but I thought the teal rhinestones were a fabulous touch to draw in your eye. :)
Below is another fun card with a lot of sparkle. AND it features the coordinating dies for the stamp set! Hooray!!!
  • The Embellishments die (pictured below) will be available on Aug. 15.

  • Retailing for only $8

  • This is a fast and easy way to make these flourishes come to life and really POP off the page!
DETAILS, DETAILS!
>>> Once again, I love this PTI Hawaiin Shores cardstock! And I think the flourishes outlined in matching glitter almost looks like the view in a teal aquarium or looking down through the clear waters in the ocean.
>>> I think this might be one of my favorite sentiments in the set. I can think of so many people who truly deserve to hear this from me. My life is enriched by a lot of wonderful people!
>>> The buttons and ribbon do a nice job creating balance for the card even when the focal point of the die cut flourish is slightly off center.

I just love the kraft, white, and teal color combo!

It's TIME FOR A PRIZE!!!
>>> That's right, I am giving away lots of goodie bags with crafty treats designed to compliment this stamp set with perfection!
>>>Leave a Comment on my blog and you are automatically eligible to win today's prize. All the winners from the count down giveaways will be posted on the blog on Sunday, Aug. 15.
>>> So, today's card features the cool teal colors that really resonate with my personality. I want to know, what's your color! Maybe you love to wear it, maybe you like to decorat youe home in this color, OR maybe it represents your personality, or atleast who you want to be! What's your color, and why?! Do you find that you gravitate toward this color while stamping it up in your creative endeavors?

Thanks so much for stopping by! Check out Dawn McVey's wonderful use of the Embellishments stamp set in a fun new way, too!

  7. Well, I have a couple answers. I love to decorate with RED. I have a lot of it in my house...probably at least a little in most rooms. Funny thing is...I don't wear red, I guess it's not flattering on me. My favorite color to wear? Hands down...orange! From tangerine to more coral. I love them all!

    Thanks for the giveaway chance!

  8. I love to wear red (a deep, blood kind of red) with neutrals because I love that pop of colour on top of versatile basics. But my favourite colour to craft with it kraft! It is definitely my go to background- more interesting than white but it goes with everything for any occasion.

  9. I love chocolate - not to eat - well OK, to eat as well but I love to wear it and to craft with it. It goes so well with so many other colours too.

  16. My color is green. Hunter green. It's rich and soothing and looks great with my reddish hair lol. I've had green cars and green bedrooms and green chairs and even a green mother of the bride dress. It's my signature color and everyone in the family calls it Mom's color. Guess I have them trained. :-)

  17. Beautiful.....orange and teal makes for a great combo. Love both your cards. I am always partial to anything green.

  18. My favorite color is green, all shades of it! I am not quite sure as to why, but I do like all the PTI shades of green as well. I do use it alot when I stamp, but I think that is because I don't have many of the PTI colors yet.

  19. My favorite color has always been blue. As a grownup, I like deep blues, and I especially like blue with dark green and red - colors we have used throughout our house. I'm always drawn to the jewel tones of these colors.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I love purple and always have. I remember that there never seemed to be much purple around when I was in school so I never had much to wear in that colour. I made up for it by choosing purple for any craft I did, and now I wear a lot of purple! Couldn't tell you why I like it so much though!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I think my color is pink - cheerful, rosy, girly, sweet!

    ReplyDelete
  22. My fave colour is turqouise blue. it matches my eyes and suits my hair and complexion. I haven't stamped a lot with it though. I tend to like pinks and corals and light yellows, greens and blues for stamping.

    ReplyDelete
  23. My color is yellow! It is a bit of sunshine no matter what season you are in! Your projects are beautiful, thanks so much for the chance to win!

  31. Hi Tiff! I have to agree with you. I absolutely love the color teal. It's like a chameleon. It can be cool and modern, but it can be vintage and retro. Teal was a popular color in the 50's. I love pairing cool teal with a hot color like red. Maybe you could do a card in teal and red! I love teal so much that I'd like to incorporate it into my new scraproom, maybe as an accent color. What do you think?

    ReplyDelete

  35. What a lovely card! I like aqua and blue colors but rarely use them; I tend more toward purples and pinks. Not that I'm a girly girl! My house has mostly greens, with a bit of deep purple for an accent. Hmm, maybe it is time for me to get out of this rut!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I guess I am a chocolate brown and green girl. Have lots of shades of green in my home and I use a lot of brown and green in my cards. I'm really loving your new set and all of the great examples you've been doing.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I have three color favorites: teal, spring moss, and razzberry fizz. Alone or together, they make me happy! You can throw in terracotta tile too, great "foil" color And, yes, I do use these colors all the time when stamping. Other color combos seem so drab to me. Hard to get out of my rut when I don't think other colors are pretty at all. So I love your card today. Sigh......

    ReplyDelete
